The origins of mezze, the place of grills, the meaning of sharing: bearings to understand what gives the Lebanese table its soul.

Lebanon, a bridge between East and West: here we tell the stories of the dishes, the gestures and the traditions, to travel for an hour or two, the length of an article.
Since May 2010, Layali Beyrouth has kept Lebanese cuisine alive at 38 rue du Dauphiné in Lyon. This blog gathers our bearings to understand it better: where mezze come from, how our grills are cooked, what to order on a first visit and how to build a meal to share, takeaway or dine-in.

A couple, a qualified chef, fifteen years of front-of-house: our way of cooking fresh every day, without stock, in the heart of Lyon 3.
Lebanese cuisine is above all a cuisine of sharing: a multitude of cold and hot mezze, fragrant grills, fresh herbs and plenty of olive oil. Rather than say everything on one page, we prefer to take the time, dish by dish, to tell what makes each preparation unique.
Start with the fundamentals: what Lebanese cuisine is, the role of mezze in a meal, or the recipe and origins of hummus. Each article then points back to our menu, to move from reading to tasting.
